Doctor’s cardigan

My father in law proudly modeling his new cardigan!

I made this sweater for my father in law.  Surprisingly, there were no patterns on ravelry for cardigans made using the contigous method, so I had to make it up as I went along.

The yarn is Wild Apple Hill Farm, american wool.  It’s a very rough yarn, so this cardigan is meant to be almost as thick as a coat and equally warm. To make the yarn softer, I wash it with the rest of our laundry.  The garmet will shrink, but only by about 5-7% so long as you wash on Cold with a wool appropriate detergent (we use Charlie’s soap for all laundry).

Here is a YouTube video where I explain how to pick up the underarm stitches without leaving gaps.
